Functionality Review

The heart of any website testing project is simply making sure that everything works. However, we don't just ask, "Is it broken?" We want to make sure the website does what it is supposed to do. If there is a specification document for the development of the website, Unmatched Quality can verify the website against the specifications to assure that the website meets the requirements your customer has set forth.

We test functionality of basic sites and simple forms, all the way to more complicated applications such as e-commerce, user-driven content, and intranets.

Browser Compatibility

There are dozens of browsers and browser versions that your website visitors may be using. Based on your audience, which browsers are important for you to verify that the site functions correctly? Are you only concerned with visitors on PCs using Internet Explorer 7.0, or do you need to go back to IE 6, or even 5.5? What about visitors using a Mac or Linux machine? Is your audience using mobile devices, such as the iPhone or Blackberry?

You tell us what environments are important to you and your audience, and we will verify that your website looks good and functions properly in each of those environments.

Web Standards Validation

Web standards are a set of guidelines that have been established to try to keep Web developers on the same page, speaking the same language. The Web is a very complex environment, with a plethora of programming languages, browsers, servers and operating systems all trying to communicate.

By verifying that your code is compliant with the Web standards established by the W3C, you can prevent many problems with browser compatibility and search engine ranking before they happen. We can run tests to validate that your HTML code, stylesheets, and RSS feeds are in compliance with those standards.

Performance

Web users are very impatient people. They will only give you a few seconds to display information before they will give up and leave. Unmatched Quality can run performance tests to determine if your page load time, response time, and page size are within acceptable limits.

If you have a website or web-based application and anticipate a lot of traffic, we can work with you to set up and monitor load testing scenarios to simulate how your website will perform in those conditions.

Content Proofreading

In addition to the technical services, Unmatched Quality can help you better communicate with your audience. We can proofread your website content for spelling, grammatical errors and consistency. In addition, our writing and marketing experts can analyze your content for comprehension and offer suggestions on how to more clearly and effectively speak to your audience.

Accessibility for Users with Disabilities

The federal government has established guidelines to ensure that electronic and information technology can be easily accessible to people with disabilities. These guidelines were established in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and were significantly revised in the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. The revised version in the Workforce Investment Act contains guidelines for Web-based information and applications.

While these guidelines are only mandatory for many government agencies, accessibility has become a very important consideration for many website developers. If accessibility is a concern, Unmatched Quality can verify that your website is Section 508 compliant.

Usability

Even if a website functions and performs perfectly, if visitors have trouble finding information or completing important tasks, the website will be much less effective and profitable than it could be. Unmatched Quality can take several approaches to improve the usability of your website.

Our usability experts can make recommendations based on their observation and experience. If your budget allows, we can go further and develop use cases and pull together small focus groups of 5 to 10 people that represent your audience. We will observe and measure the focus group's performance on the use cases to get more reliable, user-based information on the strengths and weaknesses of the website.

Monthly or Quarterly Website Audits

If you have a website that will be updated or changed periodically and would like it to be monitored after the initial development is complete, Unmatched Quality can provide ongoing monitoring and testing to ensure that quality is upheld over time.
